Review: Perception
Perception by A.L. Waddington
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
***** April's 5 Star Review ***** 5 Dreams and Screams
Questions, questions, and more questions.. they consume Jocelyn Timmons’ life—both of them. Questions that never seem to have an answer. They haunt her, eat at her, and dreams of a normal senior year of high school have finally floated away into nothingness.
Inheriting the gift of EVE (Essence Voyager Era) has become both a gift and a curse. One that Jocelyn doesn’t know if she wants or can accept. The world she once knew and thrived in has all but disappeared in the last two months. And now she wonders if she can ever find her way home again.
Her fiancĂ©, Jackson Chandler, and his family seem to be the only ones who understand what she’s going through besides her uncles, both of which she’s grown very close to. But even they do not fully grasp how turbulent the situation at home has become. Will Jocelyn survive the torments from her mother and brother? Or will she find a hidden key to finally unlock her golden cage?
Okay ask yourself this question. Can you imagine going through your life as a normal almost eighteen-year-old teenager, starting out your senior year, but in just a matter of weeks, your entire life and everything you have thought you understood has changed? Well this is how Jocelyn Timmons found herself in. In the first 2 books (which I hope you have read) Jocelyn finds out that she has inherited what is called EVE (Essence Voyager Era) from her Uncle. She finds herself living on two different planes at the same time. November 26, 2009 while her other life is in the year 1878. Jocelyn has a hard time accepting this in both of her lives. Who wouldn’t? I couldn’t do it and I know you couldn’t either but Jocelyn is a strong woman who stands up for herself not only against her mother but her brother and her friends. Even though her family isn’t as close as any other family, I am glad that she not only has Jackson but Emily and Robert as well and of course her dad but he doesn’t know about the EVE. Not only did we get to enjoy their marriage in 1878 but also 2009.
I really enjoyed this book and the continuation of Jocelyn and Jackson’s story. Jocelyn and Jackson have gone through so much go overcome what they had to deal with. I can’t wait to see what is in store for them in the fourth and final book, Illumination. I really did enjoy it and can’t wait to see what happens next.
