Review: Opaque Mirrors

Opaque Mirrors Opaque Mirrors by Courtney Lane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

***** Sharon's 5 Star Review ***** 5 Dreams and Screams

This is my first book by Courtney Lane and horror is a new genre for me, but I thought I would give it a shot.

The story is about Whitney whose mother was a retired porn star and she ended up having her own clients. One client in particular had very specific directions for her to follow during their meeting and it turned out to be a torture porn star who demanded that either she kill him or he would kill her.

Her decision haunts her and so she leaves town to try to build a new life which works up until weird things start happening around her and her dark dreams which cross over into reality. At certain points she doesn’t know what is real and what is not, what is a nightmare and what is a fantasy.

This is one of those stories that twists you up….it is dark….very dark…..and is not going to appeal to everyone. It is an interesting plot though. It reminds me of the movie The Sixth Sense, where things are not what they appear to be. Since it was so twisted, it was a pretty challenging read. The characters themselves are easy to follow and I actually liked them, but there are lots of unanswered questions throughout the book that leave you confused. Although, at the end everything is finished and it is well worth the ride.
