Blurb: Luke Kelso is about to land what he thought was his dream job as crew chief for his dad’s pro-race team, but a celebratory night out with friends turns into a six-month nightmare of abuse after he is drugged and forced into service for a high-end sex trafficking ring.
His rescue and return home to a family that loves him should have given him a safe place to recover and begin rebuilding his life. But when the truth about his family’s involvement in his ordeal is revealed, Luke turns his back on God, his family, and his career, vowing to take down the one who shattered his world forever.
An emotional story of recovery and healing through faith in God, Saving Detroit is a heartbreaking look at the horrors of human trafficking seen through the eyes of a young man fighting a battle against an evil only God can defeat.

The tiny room quickly filled with steam, and I didn’t bother to close the curtain as the hot water sluiced over me. Shelby kept a stock of soap and body wash on a rack in the corner, and I blindly grabbed the first thing my hand came in contact with. I squirted it on a washcloth and squeezed more directly onto my shoulders and head. Something fruity filled the air as I scrubbed. I dragged the cloth back and forth harder and harder, trying to get the grime of memories off my skin. The sting of the scratches I was layering all over my torso didn’t register. My breath came faster as the need to wash away the last six months became an obsession.
Beloved, stop.
I rested a hand against the tile as my chest heaved. I fisted the useless washcloth in my other hand. It’s all over me, Lord. I can’t get it off. What they did is all over me! How do I get it off? When there was no response, I smacked the wall.
“Do you even hear me?” I yelled. “You tell me I’m loved, and then you let me feel like this? You let those monsters…” I shoved back, dropping the cloth with a wet smack. “Never mind.”
I stared at the water swirling into the drain, disappearing along with my requests for His help. Hadn’t I learned yelling wouldn’t change anything? It certainly hadn’t done Mouse or me any good in that hell hole of a house, so why would it make a difference now?
